After the Stem Cell Treatments: A Day of Rest—and Adventure
Following Dr. Prodromos’s advice, I took a full day to rest after my stem cell injections. By the next morning, the medical team and most of the other patients had already departed Antigua.
Matthew and I, however, realized we’d barely seen the island—just brief glimpses during our daily drives to the clinic. So we decided to squeeze in a quick half-day tour before heading home.
Well… you get what you pay for. Our guides turned out to be a local man and his daughter, arriving in a rather worn-down SUV. Still, we hopped in and hit the road.
Within minutes, we heard a constant beep-beep-beep—the soundtrack of our journey. Turns out the daughter’s seatbelt was broken, and that steady beeping became our “song of the road” travel companion for the next three hours.
As for the island itself? It’s probably best experienced if you’re there for a specific purpose—like medical treatment. In other words: Antigua may not be a must-see destination for your bucket list.
Nuff said.
The Early Days’ Results
As I sit down to write this, I’m surprised—and thrilled—to report some very real changes. The pain in my spine? Gone. I’m walking better. And this morning, I could actually understand the lyrics from a jazz singer on the radio. That alone felt like a miracle.
They told me the full benefits could take up to six months to appear, but if this is the start… then I’m already hopeful for what’s ahead.
Here’s to healing.
